HARTFORD — Amtrak is revising its schedules for substitute bus service along the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line.

The changes are expected to begin Monday. Buses are needed to accommodate construction of a second track for the rail line.

Busing of Amtrak shuttles will occur Monday through Friday and continue through July 2016.

Connecticut Department of Transportation officials said the revised substitute bus schedules are needed to improve customer service and ensure better connections. Two morning shuttles and one evening shuttle from New Haven to Springfield, Massachusetts, have been revised. Two morning shuttles and one evening shuttle from Springfield to New Haven also are affected.

Also, buses destined for New Haven will depart Berlin, Meriden and Wallingford 30 minutes earlier than their respective train schedules.
