Body found in car

WEST HARTFORD — Police in Farmington are working with West Hartford officers after a body was found in a car outside Red Robin Sunday evening.

Farmington Police say a mall employee was reported missing on Wednesday, August 19. The man, who worked at Cellairis, a kiosk in the Westfarms Mall, hadn’t been seen by friends, family, or co-workers since he left the mall around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11.

Sunday evening, police were called to the Red Robin parking lot near Best Buy at the Corbin’s Corner shopping center after a body was found in a car.

The car is the same one the missing man was driving when he left the mall August 11, according to police. Detectives investigated a red two-door Honda Civic with Georgia plates.

The body in the car has not been positively identified at this point pending autopsy results.  Farmington police say they are not releasing the name of the missing person until the man in the car has been identified.

“It’s an active investigation,” said West Hartford Detective Sergeant Eric Rocheleau. “It is suspicious in nature, as far as we’re concerned. Because I don’t know what happened to the party in the car.”
