WINDSOR LOCKS–It’s been 50 years, but the spirit is still roaring for a little league team.

The Windsor Locks Little League team won the little league world series in 1965, and celebrations have commenced at Pesci Park.

The champions, and some coaches, were honored on Friday night at a ceremony that included a viewing of the 1965 game.

Windsor locks is one of just four Connecticut teams to ever win the little league world series. The others include Stamford, Norwalk and Trumbull.

The team will visit Williamsport, Pennsylvania this weekend to watch the 2015 world series.
