HARTFORD–A suspect has been arrested after a postal worker was attacked and robbed at the Barry Square Post Office in Hartford.
Dion Edward Thompson, 37, formerly of East Hartford, was charged with robbery of a postal employee and theft of government property.
The incident occurred in September 2014. The employee was loading a postal vehicle parked in the loading dock when two masked men, one of whom was armed with a gun, approached the worker and took $21,817 in cash, checks and money orders.
Each charge carries a maximum prison term of 10 years.
Thompson is currently incarcerated in Colorado for separate charges.
