HARTFORD – On Thursday just after 6 p.m. police said they executed search and arrest warrants on Main Street as a result of a long-term investigation into a large-scale heroin trafficking operation.

Seized in the raid were almost 3,000 bags of heroin, close to 100 bags of cocaine, and $14,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

According to police, the operation involved several controlled purchases, surveillance, on-site arrests, and electronic monitoring.

Hartford residents arrested during the warrant execution on charges that include possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell and operating a drug factory were: John Colon, 24, of Main Street; Joshua Stracham, 23, of Benton Street; Matthew Rodriguez, 27, of Flatbush Avenue; Hector Navedo, 23, of Franklin Avenue;  Rafael Martinez, 23, of Otis Street; Brandon Broughton, 23, of Sanford Street; Jermaine Jenkins, 24 of Albany Avenue and Argenis Deleon, 24 of Main Street.

Naomi Alicea, 32, of Main Street in Hartford was arrested for interfering with a search warrant and criminal attempt to commit assault on a police officer.

David Stark, 38, of Chestnut Street in Hartford and Kevin Holmgren, 46, of West Side Boulevard in Burlington were charged with possession of narcotics and third-degree criminal trespass, police said.

Also arrested was Darrien Collier, 29,of Main Street in on an outstanding arrest warrant for sale of narcotics.
