CHESHIRE — Cheshire police say an 85-year-old woman has died after crashing her car at the entrance to a condominium complex.

Sgt. Kevin O’Donnell tells the Record-Journal the crash happened at around 7:45 a.m. Sunday at the Copper Hill Condominiums on the corner of Country Club Road and Wolf Hill Road.

He said the woman crashed her four-door sedan head-on into a brick pillar. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, where she died.

O’Donnell said it doesn’t appear any other cars were involved but the investigation is continuing.

The woman’s name was not immediately released.
