BERLIN--If you did a lot of driving during the Labor Day weekend, there’s a good chance you noticed the lower gas prices.

AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Connecticut was $2.55 during the holiday weekend, and the price will continue to drop barring any unforeseen disturbances.

In the meantime, some drivers are already getting an unbeatable bargain. The Citgo gas stations in Berlin and Newington along the Berlin Turnpike were offering gas at $2.18 a gallon.

Sales associate Joshua Olsby says many customers are skeptical of the posted price. “'Are you serious? Is it $ 2.18?' Of course it's$ 2.18. They say, 'well, you're giving away gas at this point,'” says Olsby.
