Charity event at Manchester Community College to help veterans

HARTFORD -- Vicky Wilson, who lost a brother in combat, is the event organizer and she joined Fox CT Morning Extra to talk about the fundraiser.

The 2nd annual Lt. Col. Leon G James II Memorial Benefit will support the Disabled American Veterans. DAV empowers veterans to lead high quality lives maintaining their respect and dignity.

They provide a full range of benefits for veterans and their families to easily access.

James died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., of injuries sustained in Baghdad, Iraq, on September 26, 2005 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations
