NEW YORK (WPIX) – An Amber Alert for a missing 10-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted by her non-custodial mother was canceled Thursday afternoon.
Few details were available on the girl's condition.
Authorities believed, based on recent developments, that Celine Melanie Hicks wasin danger, according to police.
Hicks was last seen at Castle Middle School, located at 220 Henry Street about 1 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
She was in the company of her mother, 39-year-old Jacqueline Hendricks, who picked her up from school, NYPD said. The mother does not have custody of her daughter and left the location with the child.
The child lives with another family member, police said.
State police said the pair might have been with the girl's father 43-year-old Carlos Hicks.
