Torrington man stabbed during fireworks fight

TORRINGTON – Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred on Wednesday on Newfield Road after a man who was shooting off fireworks stabbed another man who confronted him about it.

Police said that man was stabbed in the neck and jaw area, and was treated and released from Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

The victim said the suspect, Robert Dellavalle, 43, of Newfield Road, was shooting off fireworks and the victim confronted him about it, which resulted in a fight.

During the fight,  the victim was stabbed and Dellavalle was located a short time later and taken into custody.

He was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and Interfering with an officer. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
