EAST HARTFORD — Horizon Group Properties’ The Outlet Shoppes at Rentschler Field is one step closer to breaking ground after the Town of East Hartford Inland Wetlands/Environment Commission meeting gave the green light to precede Monday.
“We are happy that the East Hartford Inland Wetlands/Environment Commission has allowed us to proceed and are looking forward to getting this project moving,” said Tom Rumptz, Senior Vice President, Development/Construction of Horizon Group Properties.
At the meeting, the building company had to demonstrated that the outlets would have minimal impact, if any on inland wetlands and watercourses.
The development project is expected to bring more than 900,000 sq. ft. of outlet shops, mixed-use retail, lodging, civic, residential, and restaurant space to Rentschler Field.
