SOMERS–On Wednesday, September 23 around 2:09 p.m. the Somers resident state trooper school resource officer was on patrol at Somers High School and when he noticed a suspicious vehicle. The car fled before the officer could identify the driver.

The trooper later learned that the car had been stolen earlier that day, and he checked the area around the school to see if the car had stuck around. He found it, and the only person in the car jumped out and ran into the woods.

School surveillance video and interviews of witnesses helped State Police identify the driver.

While investigating the stolen car, police learned that the suspect had been with two missing teen girls who were last seen on September 17.

On Thursday, September 24 at 1 a.m. one of the missing teen’ parents called State Police to report that they had just received new information about the location of both missing teen girls, as well as the suspect.

Troopers responded to the tip and found all three teens sitting in a stolen car.

The suspect was arrested and charged with larceny in the second degree and interfering with an officer.

The missing teen girls were returned to their parents.
