HARTFORD – The Fireball Run requires road closures in the City of Hartford both days this weekend.

On Saturday, as a result of a static vehicle display on Trinity Street, Elm Street will be closed from Pulaski Circle at West Street to Trinity Street and Trinity Street will be closed from Capitol Avenue to the Arch. Both are scheduled to close at 9 a.m. and reopen at 6 p.m.

For Sunday’s start, Main Street will be closed from Pearl Street to Capitol Avenue. Road closures will begin at 4 a.m. and are scheduled to reopen around 11 a.m.

Traffic police will help teams from the rally area to Interstate 84 West.

Fireball Run is an adventure-travel streaming TV series and live event.

Four astronauts from all over the world, four celebrities, and 40 rally teams will compete in the eight-day, 2,000 mile, life-size trivia game, solving clues that lead to the next adventure.

The live event raises awareness for missing children and the driving teams are assigned a missing child from their area and are asked to distribute 1,000 missing child flyers.

The event begins in Hartford, then moves to Queen Anne’s County, Maryland; Williamsburg, Virginia; Topsail Island, North Carolina; Florence, South Carolina; Liberty County, Georgia; and finally finishes in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Oct. 3.
