HARTFORD--An eerie blemish on Connecticut history is also a "first" that the state doesn't want on its resume.

As we enter the month of October, which is prime time for ghost tales and the supernatural, it's time to look back on Connecticut's own witch trials, which happened before the infamous ones in Salem.

On this week's haunted Hidden History, photojournalist Mike Townsend looks back at the first set of executions for witches in U.S. history.
