FAIRFIELD — First responders are being credited with saving the life of an 8-year-old cock-a-poo Wednesday morning.
Around 11:50 a.m. crews were called to a wooded area for “a dog stuck under several slabs on concrete.”
“An eight-year-old cock-a-poo had become trapped underneath slabs of concrete and construction debris,” said incident commander Assistant Chief George Gomola. “Impending heavy rains complicated the situation with the potential for flooding.”
Fairfield Fire personnel utilized structural collapse rescue tools along with traditional digging equipment to successfully free the dog from entrapment and return it to its owner.
The whole incident lasted about 30 minutes. No word on how the dog got stuck in the first place.
