Man arrested for serious assault on two people in Willington

WILLINGTON – One man was arrested after two people were seriously assaulted Saturday.

Police were called to Balazs Road in Willington early Saturday morning. They found two people who had been assaulted. Police said one had been struck several times in the head, and choked.

According to police, the second victim heard the screams from the first victim and ran out of the house to help and was struck several times with a tree branch. The first victim was taken to Rockville Hospital to be treated.

Police located the suspect in a nearby home and placed him under arrest. Daniel Bitcon, 29, was charged with assault, strangulation, threatening, unlawful restraint, disorderly conduct, breach of peace, and interference with an officer. He was held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
