ENFIELD — A judge has denied a reduced bail request for a Connecticut teenager accused of setting five arson fires.

Davidson Izzo lives near vacant buildings in Enfield that have been set ablaze at least eight times since August 2014.

The defense last month asked a Hartford Superior Court judge to reduce the 17-year-old Izzo’s bail, saying it was unreasonably high and that prosecutors do not have solid evidence.

The Hartford Courant reports the judge denied the request Monday.

Izzo remains jailed on $750,000 bail in one of the cases pending against him and $10,000 on each of the remaining cases.

The judge says to expect the case to be called in for trial in January.

Prosecutors say they’ll make a plea offer at Izzo’s next court date on Nov. 5.
