Bridgeport attempted abduction

BRIDGEPORT–Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who tried to abduct a teenage girl.

On October 5, around 7:15 a.m., police responded to reports of an attempted abduction at the corner of Boston Avenue and Palisade Avenue. The 17-year-old victim wasn’t hurt.

The victim said she was walking to school when a charcoal gray Toyota Yaris approached her and lured her into the car. Once in the car, the driver assaulted her, so she jumped out of the moving car while it was driving west on Boston Avenue. The Yaris made a u-turn at Dover Street and drove east, toward Stratford.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic woman in her 40s who had freckles and black hair, which she wore in a ponytail. The Yaris had its bumper missing, and you could see Styrofoam.

If you saw the incident on Boston Avenue, please call Bridgeport Detective Jeff Holtz at 203-581-5293.
