WINDSOR LOCKS - Bradley International Airport could soon become more worldly.
According to international news services, Norwegian Air has Greater Hartford on its radar, and is interested in having flights between Bradley and Europe.
The airline reportedly is intrigued with the lower fees the airport offers as opposed to Boston's Logan Airport and JFK in New York.
Norwegian Air hopes to sell $69 one-way tickets to Europe as early as 2017.
"Usually they talk to people like AAA Travel and try and get a sense of the amount of people that we’re putting overseas," Suzanne Aresco, AAA Travel product manager, said. "And then they go ahead and say I think that we can make a run at this."
Bradley International Airport will not confirm if a deal is in the works, other than to say landing another international carrier is a priority and that it is in communication with Norwegian Air.
