BRISTOL — A Bristol man has died from injuries he sustained during an accident Thursday morning. 4 people were injured Thursday morning when a van carrying people with disabilities crashed into the back of a truck.

Police say one of the victims, Scott Duell, 68, later died at the hospital.

Police say it happened just before 8:30 a.m. on October 8. The transport van hit the back of the Bristol-Terryville Septic tank truck that was parked along the curb line on Waterbury Road. The van is a transport van for Community Resources INC, a facility for persons with disabilities.

The van sustained heavy front end damage.   The van was occupied by the driver and 3 passengers, two of which were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Bristol Fire Department.   A 24-year-old woman from Waterbury was driving the van.

Duell suffered head, neck, and back injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He died late Friday evening.

Kasiana Goodman suffered a head contusion and she is currently pregnant, and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for treatment.   Michael Parenty was a passenger in the van and was also taken to St. Mary’s for treatment. The other passenger extricated was Jonathan Meckenna, who also suffered Head, neck, and back injuries as well and was also taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
