MIDDLETOWN — Police have arrested a woman after she called 911 dozens of times in 2015 for non-emergencies.

On October 3, at 7:30 p.m., Michelle Davis, of Middletown, called 911 and then hung up. Police were dispatched to her home to investigate if there was an emergency.

When they arrived, they learned that Davis called the police on her house phone because she couldn’t find her cell phone. When they spoke to her, police say she appeared heavily intoxicated.

When asked about her lost phone, Davis said, “Oh yea. My phone. I found my phone, so I’m all set.”

Police explained that losing her phone while drunk isn’t a reason to 911, and she responded “Whatever.”

Davis was issued a misdemeanor summons for misuse of emergency 911 system and told to appear in court on October 16.

Six days later, on October 9 at 3:40 p.m., police again responded to a 911 call made from Davis’ apartment. Davis told the officers who responded that she called 911 because she wanted police to find her cousin, who lives in the same apartment building as her.

Davis was issued another misdemeanor summons for misuse of an emergency 911 system. Police said this was the ninth 911 call for a non-emergency that Davis made in one week. She was told to appear in court on October 28.

Police were familiar with Davis, and said she has called for non-emergencies 76 times since March 15, 2015. One of the officers familiar with Davis told the officer who responded to this 911 call that he spoke with a doctor at Middlesex Hospital recently about Davis’ frequent 911 calls claiming she needed help when she didn’t have a police or medical emergency.
