NEW LONDON–Firefighters fought a massive house blaze early Saturday morning.
Around 4:04 a.m. the New London Fire Department responded to a home on Montauk Avenue for reports of a fire on the second floor.
Six people lived in the home, but all made it out safe. However, according to the fire battalion chief, while firefighters rescued one cat, another passed away.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
