WEST HARTFORD–Your favorite cupcake shop is getting a second home.

The popular Middletown shop NoRA Cupcakes Company is opening a so-called pop-up store in Blue Black Square! The store will open in November and stay for just one year, giving residents who live a bit further north the chance to experience dozens of flavors daily.

The shop will be located at 103 Memorial Rd. The storefront has been teased for a while on NoRA’s social media accounts, saying a new location was opening soon but never mentioning where. Well, now the secret’s out!

According to the Hartford Courant, who spoke with owner Carrie Carella, the shop will look exactly like the Middletown location, which opened on New Year’s Eve four years ago. Though there won’t be a kitchen, fresh cupcakes will be delivered from the Middletown location several times a day.

The Courant also reports that Blue Black Square officials actually approached Carella about opening a seasonal holiday shop, but she wanted to stay a bit longer.

The Middletown location will remain open, as the name is based on that location: just north of Rapallo Avenue (that’s North oRapallo Avenue, NoRA). The bakery will also continue operating its popular cupcake truck.
