BRIDGEPORT — A Bridgeport man is facing several charges after police say he caused an accident, struck two police cars, and then led police on a chase, all while his wife and 2-month-old daughter were in the car.

Police say it all started around 11:30 a.m. Monday. A detective drove by an accident in front of 172 Golden Hill Street. As the detective was calling in the accident, the 1999 Mercedes involved took off. About 10 minutes later, the car hit a marker police cruiser, drove another 30 feet and hit a second marked police car.

Eventually, the driver starting running and police were able to detain him after he ran into a nearby building.

Police arrested Anthony Carmeron, 25, and charged him with risk of injury, reckless endangerment, interfering with police, reckless driving, engaging in police pursuit, operation under suspension, evading responsibility, no insurance operator, wrong way on a one way, and possession of marijuana.

Cameron’s wife, Nicker Brown-Cameron had an outstanding arrest warrant in Stamford, so she was transported there. The 2 month old baby was handed over to a family member.

Cameron’s bond was set at $50,000.

No one was seriously injured in any of the crashes.
