SOUTHBURY – Police said a 22-year-old man is dead after rear-ending a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Southbury Wednesday.
Austin Fiddner, 22, hit the truck in his 2010 Nissan Altima 2 while traveling east in the center lane on I-84 just west of the exit 15 off ramp.
The truck driver, Tomasz Szarwacki, 39, of New Britain, was unharmed and was not treated.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. Wednesday and the highway was closed for a time while the accident was being investigated.
