WETHERSFIELD — A service outage from Verizon caused a shutdown of the Department of Motor Vehicles’ phone center on Saturday.

According to the DMV, those dialing the DMV phone center will receive a busy signal. Verizon  reported to DMV that the issue is being impacted by a higher level outage.
