HOLYOKE, Mass. — Could crossing the state line to our north mean you have to change your clocks?

A state legislative committee formed last month held a hearing Tuesday at Holyoke Community College.

The committee is investigating the economic ramifications of changing the time zone in Massachusetts from the Eastern time zone to the Atlantic Standard time zone, moving  it one hour earlier.

They will look into “local and regional economies, public education, public health, transportation, energy consumption, commerce and trade if the time zone is altered.”

The committee’s report is due by the end of next year.
