16-year-old driver involved in Southington accident that left man in critical condition

SOUTHINGTON — A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car Saturday night.

Police were sent to the McDonald’s at 675 Queen Street around 9 p.m. Officers determined a 16-year-old was driving northbound on Queen Street in a BMW.

33-year-old Justin Spielvogel, was crossing Queen Street  from the Exxon Mobile Gas Station when he was struck.

Spielvogel was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was reported in critical condition. The 16-year-old driver suffered a hand injury.
