Body found in Bethany identified as New Haven man

BETHANY -- State Police Major Crimes has been investigating an untimely death Sunday in Bethany.

Troopers responded to  Wooding Hill Road around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, troopers located a man dead on the ground.

Detectives have positively identified the dead man as Joel R. Suero, 27, of Whalley Avenue in New Haven.

No other victims were located. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in that area, or who may have any information regarding this untimely death, is asked to contact detectives at 203-393-4200 or text “tip711” with information to 236748. All calls will be kept confidential.

There is no threat to the community or public, according to police.
