Celebrities join forces with South Carolina to raise funds after historic flooding

CHARLESTON, S.C.–Some of South Carolina’s most famous residents are pitching in to help victim’s from last month’s massive floods.

Celebrities such as Stephen Colbert and Darius Rucker joined a group called One SC, which is aimed at raising funds.

Tends of thousands of people were forced to leave their homes during the historic flooding, which was caused by more than 20 inches of rain in just days, and Gov. Nikki Haley says the state badly needs help.

“I think we have had probably over 86,000 people who have registered with FEMA. ¬†About 25 percent of them are getting help. ¬†That means 75 percent are not,” Haley said.
