WEST HAVEN--Hundreds of neighbors turned out to Duffy's Tavern on Campbell Avenue Monday night in honor of a little boy who is fighting for his life.

Mickey Macholl, 4, has stage 3 high risk neuroblastoma, a form of cancer.

Mickey and his parents moved to South Carolina recently, but the family hails from West Haven, and love and support is still here for the struggling family.

"Things weren't going too well, so I felt like it was time to reach out to West Haven, round some people up and help Mickey out," said Chris Walsh, Duffy's owner.

And Mickey's family couldn't be more grateful.

"He opened the restaurant, he opened his heart for my grandson and I've seen people I haven't seen in quite a while and it's phenomenal. Words can't describe it," said Jim Eagan, Mickey's grandfather, who was in attendance to represent the family.

If you missed Monday's event, you can still help out the Macholl family by donating to their GoFundMe page, which is meant to raise money to help with the steep medical bills, which you can find by clicking here. So far, the page has raised nearly $25,000!
