HARTFORD -- November is National Adoption Month and who better to talk about it than Monica Hall. After raising 4 children of their own, she and her husband then adopted 5 more!

According to Community Health Resources, many of their foster parents ultimately adopt their foster children, which is the best outcome for the kids. Hall adopted her foster children after her biological children left for college.

The Therapeutic Foster Care program, through CHR, is called “therapeutic” because it’s for children and teens who have experienced horrible trauma, abuse or neglect. The program matches these children with foster parents who can give them a sense of belonging, support and a second chance for a happy childhood. CHR also provides enormous training, counseling and 24/7 support, for the parents, as well as a stipend to cover the child’s expenses.
