BETHEL — A Bethel man is facing several charges after police say he was driving drunk and caused a crash, all with a 6-month-old in the car with him.

Officers noticed Randall Krizan, 49, driving fast on Plumtrees Road Wednesday afternoon. Police say he had damage to the front of his car after being involved in an accident on Plumtree Road at Walnut Hill. His license plate had fallen off at the scene. They called officers in Danbury but were unable to pull him over.

About 30 minutes later, officers spotted him again and were able to stop him. Police say he failed a field sobriety test. A 6 month old was found in the car with him. The child was not hurt and family members picked up the baby from police.

Krizen is charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, and risk of injury. He was released on $10,000 bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on November 27.
