HARTFORD -- The organizations listed below are looking for your helping in giving something this holiday season for families in need. Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox will give donors of $50 or more a tshirt worn by the worn by Red Sox players and coaching/training staff.  For more information, go here.

Hartford
The United Way of Connecticut says In Connecticut, 1-in-4 households have earnings that exceed the Federal Poverty Level but fall short of a basic cost of living threshold. They call these households ALICE—which is a United Way acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. You can find out ways to help here.

Operation Elf: New Unwrapped gifts and gift card donations may be dropped off at any of the following armories or National Guard facilities in Connecticut, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If you need to make special arrangements to drop off toys, please feel free to contact us at our Operation E.L.F. hotline, 1-800-858-2677.          

"Three Square Meals" Food Fund Drive
Donations taken at all Ocean State Job Lot stores through December 31.
Customers at all Ocean State Job Lot stores are invited to make a donation at the registers, a portion of which will be matched by Job Lot to help combat food insecurity in their community.

Christmas kettle is The Salvation Army's most famous street campaign. It is most recognized during the Christmas season through its volunteers who stand outside of businesses and play or sing Christmas carols, or ring bells to inspire passersby to place donations of cash and checks inside the trademark red kettles, which will help others in need.

Giving Back: Your 2015 guide to holiday giving

You can contribute to your local Toys for Tots campaign in several ways. You can donate a toy at one of the area toy drop locations, host a Toys for Tots event at your home, office or other venue and collect toys for Toys for Tots, or volunteer at the local warehouse.
