HOLLYWOOD–We showed you the promo for the last season of “American Idol” last month, and now we have some even bigger news.

On Friday, it was announced that the show’s upcoming 15th season will be bringing back some familiar faces: Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson!

“I’ve spoken to all of them recently and we as a team have talked to them about coming back to do something for the final season. They are going to do it it’s just a matter of figuring what to do with them,” host Ryan Seacrest told Access Hollywood on Thursday.

The original three judges stayed with the show for eight seasons, at which point Paula departed. Simon left after the ninth season, but Randy stuck around much longer. Jackson switched to a mentoring role for contestants in season 13, and last year he did not return to the competition.

The 15th and final season of “American Idol” debuts with a two-hour premiere on Wednesday, January 6 at 8 p.m. on FOX 61.

Do you think we’ll have another Nick Fradiani to root for?
