Debris found during search for missing plane that was headed to Danbury

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. — Authorities conducting a water search in New York after a small plane went missing while on approach to Danbury airport believe they have found debris from the aircraft

New York State Police said a 1972 Cessna  went missing near the Titicus Reservoir while it was on approach to Danbury Airport. Authorities lost contact with the four passenger aircraft around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The plane was traveling from Mississippi.

Weather at the time was windy and raining.

Crews searched overnight for the crash site until foggy conditions caused the search to be called off. It resumed Friday morning.
