EAST WINDSOR – Police found the person who had custody of a sick dog that was abandoned in a wooded area off of East Road.

This person was not the owner of a gray female pit bull, according to police.

The dog was lying on a pink blanket and was unable to walk because of obvious medical issues.

Animal Control responded and rushed the dog to the Enfield Animal Hospital, but she was in such bad shape that she needed to be euthanized.

The medical issues weren’t due to abuse, and whoever left her put her in a place that she would easily be found right off the road.

Police are currently investigating this person’s actions in regard to Connecticut’s animal cruelty law.

Police said finding this person would not have been possible without the power of social media.
