NEW HARTFORD--A young New Hartford girl is hoping to go viral with her message about cancer in kids.
Emma Thistlewaite, 12, has osteosarcoma and is just back home from her latest round of chemotherapy.
While in treatment, however, she has made quite a production of her hospital stays.
Emma did the "Whip and Nae Nae" in the halls of Connecticut Children's Medical Center with nurses and other hospital staff. That video was uploaded to the hospital's YouTube channel as #ComingHome.
But Emma's own campaign, #morethanfour, carries a much more important message: that not enough funding goes into child cancer research.
"I did it because I don't think it's fair at all that pediatric cancer only gets 4 percent of all the funding that goes towards cancer," Emma said.
Emma plans to put up more video messages on YouTube to hopefully generate more money for pediatric cancer research.
