MERIDEN — A 19-year-old is dead after a car crash on Sunday morning.
The crash happened near the Walnut Grove Cemetery at 817 Old Colony Road around 2 a.m. According to police, Hector Sanchez, 19 of Meriden hit several trees causing his car to split in half. Sanchez was trapped in the car.
Police say Sanchez was traveling alone.
Sanchez was pronounced dead on scene. The road was closed for several hours while the crash was cleared. It has since reopened.
