KENT - The identity of a 50 year-old Stamford man whose body was recovered in Lake Waramaug Sunday has been released.

DEEP Environmental Conservation Police, EMS, and the Goshen dive team responded to a report of a man overboard. DEEP said the body of  Ihor Korol, 50, from Stamford, was recovered.  The other occupant of the boat was Grzegorz Rajkiewicz, age 31, from Stamford.  EnCon Police continue to investigate the accident.

When they arrived, they found that two people went overboard a vessel. Rajkiewicz was rescued and has been transported to New Milford Hospital for mild hypothermia.

Multiple agencies helped search for Korol.

Washington Fire Chief Mark Showalter tells the Waterbury Republican-American that a fisherman apparently suffered a health-related episode while sitting in a boat and fell overboard. The second fisherman went in after him in an unsuccessful attempt to save him.
