Friday at 1 a.m. State Police were investigating a two car accident near Exit 19 on 1-95 in Fairfield.
As the drivers were standing outside the vehicles, police said a Nissan Maxima traveling at a high rate of speed in the far left lane, veered to the right, narrowly missed one cruiser, and struck one of the two vehicles involved in the original accident. The drivers and a cruiser were inches from being struck as well.
Yoni Rojas, 21, of Bridgeport, was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, misuse of plates, and failure to meet minimum insurance coverage and failure to maintain lane. He was held on a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday.
