HARTFORD -- Police are investigating the theft of two motorized wheelchairs worth $20,000 from a porch.

The incident was reported Sunday evening when police were called to Greenfield Street around 7 p.m.

Police said a search of the area came up with nothing.  There are no suspects at this time.

One of the wheelchairs belongs to Rene Lewis, 62, and the other to her mother.  Lewis said she and her mother used them to get around to places like the grocery story and the doctor's office.

Lewis claimed about a month ago someone stole the same wheelchairs, which were recovered a couple blocks away.

"I'm not really into them gong to jail," Lewis said.  "Just bring them back."

Motorized wheelchairs can cost up to $30,000 depending on the features.
