LYNN, Mass.— Authorities say four people have died in a house fire in Massachusetts.

A spokeswoman for the state Fire Marshal’s office confirmed that the victims were found early Friday morning in a second-floor unit of the multi-family building in Lynn, about 10 miles northeast of Boston.

No information about the victims was made public, except that they did not appear to be children.

The fire was first spotted by a police officer just before 1 a.m., when the building was already fully engulfed.

It is thought 18 to 20 people lived in the building. According to broadcast reports, two women — one age 18, one on her 60s — were pulled from the building unconscious but were revived on the way to the hospital.

The cause is under investigation.
