Victim in critical condition after Hartford shooting

HARTFORD  —  A man suffered grave injuries when he was shot in the face Saturday night.

Police were alerted to a “serious assault with a firearm” in the area of Main Street and Pavilion Street around 10pm. Investigators learned the victim was shot once in the arm and twice in the face.

The individual was brought to St. Francis hospital in a private vehicle with life-threatening injuries. He is in critical condition and was expected to undergo emergency surgery overnight.

Detectives worked late into the night to scour the scene for evidence.

This latest investigation follows a rash of gun violence over the past week in Hartford.
