HARTFORD - For close to 40 years the Doc Hurley Classic at Weaver High School signaled the beginning of the Connecticut high school basketball season. After a two-year hiatus, this year Kevin Kirksey, who is the executive director of the Greater Hartford Pro Am youth basketball program, has renewed and re-energized the tournament this Saturday at Trinity College in Hartford. Ten teams from around the state will kick off the season, starting at noon, and Kirksey says it isn't by chance that all five games are being played on the Bantam's home court.
