Worker killed in construction accident at Naugatuck High School identified

NAUGATUCK - Naugatuck Police and Fire departments and Naugatuck Ambulance are investigating an accident involving construction equipment in the upper student parking lot of Naugatuck High School.

NaugatuckLuis Albaro Ortega-Ortega, 32, of Naugatuck was injured and taken to a local hospital, where he later died, according to an official from Connecticut's Occupational Safety and Health Administration. He worked for a private contractor, not the school, and was working to remove trees.

No other workers were injured and no school staff nor students were involved.

Both OSHA and the Department of Labor are investigating the workplace accident.
