Man arrested, facing unrelated charges, as police investigate death of infant in Old Saybrook

OLD SAYBROOK — An Old Saybrook man is facing several charges while police investigate the death of an infant. Saturday, December 19, police were called to the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites on Boston Post Road.

That’s where they found an unresponsive 14-month-old. The child was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital and died on Sunday.

During the investigation. detectives interviewed multiple people, including the boyfriend of the infant’s mother. Police said they determined Keith Frost, 29, of Old Saybrook was wanted for robbery in Suffolk County, New York. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and criminal impersonation.

Frost appeared in court Monday and is being held on $375,000 court set bond.

The investigation into the death of the infant is extremely active, police said, and anyone who has information about what happened is encouraged to contact police at 860-395-3142.
