DANBURY – Firefighters from multiple towns battled a third alarm structure fire on Main Street that started just before 8 p.m. tonight.

Bethel, Brookfield, Stoning Hill, New Fairfield and Newtown Fire Departments helped put out the blaze at a three story building located at 276 Main Street.

According to fire personnel, the fire has been knocked down, but crews remain on scene cleaning up and checking for possible hot spots.

The structure is an old building with a business on the first floor and apartments on the second and third floors.

Danbury Fire Department says everyone who was inside was able to get out own their own. Mayor Mark Boughton is on scene and says one civilian has been transported to Danbury Hospital for minor burns.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
