After a brief hiatus from the record warmth today, we’re right back to the mild stuff for your Sunday. Morning showers will give way to some afternoon clearing with temps approaching or even exceeding 60. A cold front Sunday night will usher in some of the chilliest air mass of this early winter season for early next week with highs in the 30s.

Cold high pressure will stretch across the Great Lakes and Northern New England Monday into Tuesday early next week, delivering those cooler temperatures averaging in the 30s to near 40 on Monday and the normal 30s by Tuesday. Meanwhile, low pressure will track across the Ohio Valley late Monday and re-develop off the New Jersey Shore by Tuesday morning and spin up the coast. With the high to north and low to the south, get ready for our potential first snow of the season by Tuesday morning. Several inches of snow could accumulate before the change-over to rain, especially north and west of Hartford by mid Tuesday morning.  Any snow will change to rain during the day on Tuesday.  It looks as though the morning commute could be very messy. Stay tuned to the FOX Connecticut weather watch team and log in to FOX61.com for the latest on our potential first snow of the winter season.
