DANBURY–A man was arrested at a gun range over the weekend after witnesses said he seemed intoxicated.

State Police responded to the Wooster Mountain gun range, located at 74 Sugar Hollow Rd. in Danbury, on Sunday at 2 p.m. after the manager reported there was an intoxicated person who also was in the possession of guns.

Police found a large number of people–more than 30–at the range, including kids, and many confirmed that the man appeared intoxicated, had trouble balancing and smelled like alcohol, which the officer noticed.

Police seized the man’s guns and ammunition, and brought him out of the building to arrest him.

The man was identified as Patrick Straub, 38, of Danbury. He was arrested for illegal carrying of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and breach of peace. He was released on $5,000 bond, and is due in court January 15.
